Catch the Future

As per 2022, the Kangamiut Group entered into a partnership with Antartic SeaFood S.A. via a minority shareholder post in the company. Antartic SeaFood catches and processes cold water shrimp and langostino lobster from its location in Coquimbo, Chile.  

Coq Marée is part of our family of French partners via the Freshpack Group who acquired Coq Marée in partnership with Le Garrec Group in 2021. Coq Marée is based in Dieppe, France, and specializes in scallop fisheries and processing.  

Direct Océan is part of our family of French partners via the Freshpack Group. While for 40 years, fresh or frozen salmon has been the "raison d'être" of Direct Océan, the company also offers a wide range of other seafood products.  

Our French partners, Freshpack specializes in import, production and marketing of frozen food products. Freshpack was created in 1982 in Boulogne-sur-Mer by Jacques Dutertre and Freddy Paque who remain partners today along with the Kangamiut Group.  

Kangamiut Green Land ApS was established in 2021 with the purpose of serving as the Kangamiut Group’s central function for strategic planning and operation of local nature and forestry initiatives.

Founded in 1975, Kangamiut Seafood A/S, is the original cornerstone of the Kangamiut Group; today the company is co-owned with local management. Kangamiut Seafood offers a wide range of wild-caught frozen fish and shellfish including – but not limited to – cod, haddock, pikeperch, saithe, mackerel, snow crab, Norwegian lobster and coldwater prawns. 

Kangamiut Seafood Iceland (originally G&K Seafood) specializes in coldwater prawn. The company was founded in 2005 as a partnership between Gunnar Kristófersson and the Kangamiut Group. Today the company is fully integrated as a subsidiary in Kangamiut Seafood.

Our newest family member, Laeso Fish, is a subsidiary of Kangamiut Seafood specializing in Norwegian lobster. Laeso Fish is a partnership between Kangamiut and original owners Læsø Fiskeindustri.

North Atlantic Seafood A/S, a Kangamiut Seafood A/S subsidiary specializing in Greenland halibut, was established 2013 as a partnership with Halibut Greenland A/S, Ilulissat, Greenland.  

SN Seafood A/S was established in Myre, Norway in 2007 as a partnership between the Kangamiut Group and local management. Today, the company is based in Lofoten, Norway, and is a subsidiary under Kangamiut Seafood. SN Seafood offers a wide range of wild-caught seafood products from the North Atlantic.
