First of all, thank you all for having me as an intern in Kangamiut these past two weeks; it has been a pleasure, and I've learned so much. I've had the chance to engage in many interesting and educational activities during my time here. 

 

To start, I visited a storage facility in Aarhus operated by Lineage, where I was introduced to some of Kangamiut’s products, including cod and halibut. We conducted quality checks on the fish, which was an enlightening experience as I got to handle the products firsthand and observe how the facility stores, sorts, and ships them.

I have learned

Additionally, I gained insights into the various sectors that keep Kangamiut running smoothly, such as logistics, sales, management, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.

 

I learned a lot about ESG and how Kangamiut is addressing these responsibilities, notably with the recent addition of a new forest to support their environmental initiatives. I also had the opportunity to meet Kangamiut's accounting firm, Beierholm, where I got a glimpse into the accounting side of the business.

Besides Aarhus, I visited Lineage's facility in Hirtshals, where I observed the storage of shrimp and participated in quality checks and relabeling.

 

I also witnessed the production of langoustine and observed a visit from Chinese food safety representatives who were there to verify the product's quality.

And finally, a visit to DanSea in Farum

Later in the week, I visited DanSea to learn about their operations and gain insight into their daily activities.

 

Overall, this has been one of the most educational experiences I have had.
