Purpose of
Freshpack’s visit

The primary purpose of Freshpack’s visit to Dronninglund was to improve the collaboration between Freshpack and Kangamiut and to exploit the opportunity for Kangamiut to expand our sales in the French market through Freshpack, and for Freshpack to source a wide variety of quality seafood from one single supplier.

Goodbye to history and hello to a fresh start

As most of you know, we have sold various products to Freshpack over the years with varying success on both the profit and the people side.

With Freshpack bringing in an external management consultant and Rasmus taking over the role of CEO in Kangamiut Seafood, this is our chance for a fresh start.

Anni has the role of ‘Synergy Lead’ serving as the main point of contact on the collaboration from our side; she is matched by Clémence who is the Synergy Lead from Freshpack.

Pilot project:
Processed cod

To build a model for the collaboration, we have launched a pilot project focusing on processed cod to take advantage of an already established and very big market in France, coinciding with diminishing cod quotas expected to result in limited supply and increased demand.

DanSea - as our Group experts in processed cod - will take the lead on the pilot project from Kangamiut’s side, headed by Mads and Mikael.

Teambuilding trip
to Skagen

A good collaboration is built on strong relations. Therefore, spending time together to enjoy a good meal, and taking time to visit Læsø Fiskeindustri in Skagen was part of our program.

And going to Skagen without visiting “Grenen” in this beautiful Indian summer would be a sin! So off we went for a walk in the sand to see the two seas meet at the tip of Denmark.

Thank you!

Thank you to all who put time and most of all energy into the commercial discussions and into creating an almost contagious positive atmosphere during Freshpack’s visit – and thank you to all who worked behind the scenes to make sure our French partners were hosted in the most beautiful surrounding in the forest lodge and fed to a standard that could easily compete even with French gastronomy :-)
